Butterfly Blue Pea Flower Tisane

A native of Thailand and one of the hot sellers of Radhikas Fine Teas, this tisane is made from Butterfly Blue Pea flowers. The flowers are grown and sourced from the mountainous regions of Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai in Thailand and treated to give you a mesmerising blue-coloured infusion.
Vibrant and full-bodied, this pure and 100% caffeine free tisane is rich in antioxidants and is known for its anti-ageing properties. A hot seller at Radhikas Fine Teas all year long, Butterfly Blue Pea tisane is your answer if you are looking for a refreshing, energising, and a calming tea that works as a great detox.
And if you're a novice to the concept of fine teas, Radhika recommends this tea just for its unique tea experience. What's that you ask? It's the mind-blowing colour-changing transition of the infusion, which you see when the flowers hit their best friend - water, from light blue to cobalt to purple when you leave them to infuse for long.
Radhika's Tea Tips
1) The rich blue infusion of this tisane can be used in food, desserts, cocktails and mocktails to enhance the flavour and look of your recipes
2) As a VaniTea, ice cube it to slow the ageing process or simply wrap it in a muslin cloth and rub it over your eyes to cure tired, puffed or fatigued eyes

How To Brew

How To Brew
  • Water is Tea’s best friend

  • Boil a cup of fresh water off the tap, double incase of a kettle

  • Bring it to a boil once but do not over boil it

  • Wait till the bubbles calm as pouring hot water will damage the essential benefits of this flower

  • Meanwhile, add a *pinch of the Butterfly Blue Pea flowers to any transparent tea ware like glass kettle, Tea Lite kettle or a champagne glass, it doubles incase of a kettle

  • Pour the water into the cup or kettle and let it steep for 2-3 minutes

  • Take a few minutes to enjoy the unique experience this tisane has to offer as the rich and natural blue colour of the flower blends with the water in slow and beautiful swirls

  • Strain and serve, hot or cold as you like it, add a dash of lemon and watch the colour change to pink from blue

  • The same flowers can be re-brewed through the day depending on your palate as you watch the magnificent spectacle of different shades of blue and enjoy the equally enriching brews

*At RadhikasFineTeas we believe a recipe for tea simply spoils it, instead a pinch of your favorite leaf is what you need to explore the nuances and notes of tea as it unfurls and expands, adjusting with more or less leaf or more or less water.
So a pinch is thus taking for measurements sake a TABLESPOON of the leaf or 2 grams for 8 ounces of water.
